John Aberth received his Ph.D. in medieval history from the University of Cambridge in England. He has published ten books on the history of the Middle Ages, mostly focusing on the Black Death of the mid-fourteenth century. This is his first novel. John is also a licensed volunteer wildlife rehabilitator, who specializes in the rehab of raptors, great blue herons, beavers, bobcats, coyotes, mink, and weasels. He lives on his horse farm with his wife, Laura Hamilton, a horse trainer and instructor.
