British children’s writer Lewis Carroll was born under the name Charles Lutwidge Dodgson but it was under the pseudonym of Lewis Carroll that he wrote his bestselling novels Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel Through the Looking Glass (1872). Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is considered one of the first nondidactic stories for children and remains popular today with both children and adults.
