Miriam E. David is Professor of Sociology of Education and was, until recently, interim Director and Associate Director (Higher Education) of the Economic & Social Research Council's (ESRC's) Teaching & Learning Research Programme at the Institute of Education, University of London. She has a world class reputation for her research on gender, social diversity and inequalities in education, including lifelong learning and higher education.
