Brantley Harrison was born in 1975, and grew up in Clemson, South Carolina. From an early age, her Grandmother, Mamie "Lulla" Hunt, taught her to care for all of God's creatures, no matter how big or how small. She has dedicated most of her life to helping animals. During her grade school years, she had two dogs, Coyote - a golden retriever that she rescued, and Bubba - a yellow lab. The first time she took me home to meet her parents, Bubba gently put his mouth around my wrist and escorted me across the room to another chair, and then proceeded to take my spot on the couch beside Brantley. I knew then that she had a special connection with animals, but I had no idea how much of an impact she would make on so many over our next 23 years together. I have always said that animal people are special, and I am very lucky to have a soulmate with the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. -John Harrison
