[Romance Schmomance]

After reading Southern Chance, we got a glimpse of what was to come in Southern Comfort. And hands down, Casey and Olivia's story takes the cake as my absolute favorite from this series. I suppose you could read this as a standalone, but I wouldn't recommend it. To get a little bit more insight of who these two are (AND the supporting characters) and what's currently happening, it's better to start from the beginning.

Going off of what we know from the first book in the series, I was pretty eager to get to their story. When it starts, these two are already coming into the story with a pretty strong connection and Casey seems to be in much deeper than I anticipated. And I was absolutely terrified on what direction it would go because this could be very heartbreaking story.CHECK OUT THE REST OF MY REVIEW | HERE

Olivia was hiding out after finding out how bad of a person her ex-fiancé was. She was only planning for it to be a temporary thing until everything was straightened out back in LA. That was until she laid eyes on Casey and he made her feel like she was someone. Casey was a cowboy deep down in his bones and when he saw Olivia he knew she was all city girl but that did not stop his heart from skipping a beat. Knowing she was just there temporary he tried to keep his heart guarded but in the end, he fell in love with her even with her departure looming.

OMG!! Natasha Madison has outdone herself with The Southern Series as each book hooks you more than the last. Southern Comfort grabs you in right from page one and keeps you glued to the pages with all of the suspense and angst. Casey and Olivia's sexual tension and teasing banter, as well as the ability to wholeheartedly trust each other, makes their slow-burn romance angsty and exciting. I can not wait to dive into future books in this series. The Southern Series is a must-read! Southern Comfort is a best friends sibling romantic suspense from the first-person point of view which can be read as a stand-alone or as the second novel in The Southern Series.

Natasha Madison has done it again. I enjoyed Southern Chance, the first book in the series and was looking forward to Southern Comfort. I didn’t think she would have been able to top book one, but she surprised me by delivering a tale filled with raw passion, romance and suspense. Although this installment features a different couple, its best that the books be read in order as the story lines and the characters are interconnected. 


The focus of this installment is on Olivia and Casey, whom readers met in the first book. Olivia left Los Angeles to hideout on her best friend’s family. What she never expected was the troubles she thought she had escaped had followed her to her newfound sanctuary. Added to that was the danger to her heart from meeting and spending time with Casey, the handsome and sexy cowboy.


Told from alternate POVs, the reader gains insight into the thoughts and feelings of the protagonists. Here we have two individuals, one who has never experienced unconditional love and the other who has an awesome family but had his heart broken. Neither was looking for love, but it found them both under stressful circumstances.


Despite all she has been through from her childhood to present, Olivia has proven to be resilient. She has a fun personality, and it was easy to see why Casey and his family gravitated towards her.


Readers will be amazed there is more to Casey than being a cowboy. Only his family has privy to that side of him, and now Olivia has joined that rank. Olivia and Casey had crazy chemistry between them. Readers would enjoy Casey’s protective nature towards those he loves. Sexual tension was on a high along with the anxiety that danger was near. The twists and turns added an extra layer of excitement to the story.


The overall arc for this installment was neatly wrapped up, although it would have been nice to see the villain suffer after what he put Olivia through. The ending paved the way for the next installment, which based on the reactions of the characters involved promises to be a story of epic proportions.


Conclusion/Recommendation

Looking for a fast-paced read, featuring a slow burn romance then Southern Comfort is the perfect read.
