Published to accompany a groundbreaking exhibition of film and video works at Tate Modern, Time Zones explores questions around the nature of time itself and the way it is perceived in modern culture. The international selection of artists featured in the publication, including Fikret Atay, Yael Bartana, Jeroen de Rijke and Willem de Rooij, Wolfgang Staehle, and Fiona Tan, all produce work that is essentially non-narrative, subtly critiquing our perception of 'hot' new technology and making the passage of time a central feature of their work. Essays by Tate curators Jessica Morgan and Gregor Muir will investigate the themes and offer insight into the individual artists included. Peter Osbourne, Sylviane Agachinski and Irit Rogoff contribute essays exploring our changing perceptions of time from a critical and philosophical viewpoint.
