Quirky Cat
Book Summary:
Pippa and her husband, Gabe, recently moved to a beautiful small town near the coast. They let the cliff-side view of a cottage talk them into moving. Unfortunately, this view has a drawback – it's a famous suicide location.
It isn't long before Gabe becomes semi-famous for talking people off the ledge – literally. That is until he fails. But did Gabe really fail at talking this woman down, or did he push her? The truth and lies are getting blurred, and Pippa doesn't know what to believe.
My Review:
The Soulmate is one of those books that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It'll also break your heart. Any story about lost love and betrayal always gets me. Then again, I'm a sap. So take that comment with a grain of salt.
This thriller is told through two perspectives – Pippa and the mysterious woman/jumper. I don't want to name her in this review because I'm unsure if that would be a spoiler. At first, I wasn't sure what to think of the second perspective, but by the end, I was certain that it added depth to the mystery.
I have so many questions about Pippa's choices, to say the least. Yet, many of those questions were answered by the end, but you know how these thrillers go! She's one of those protagonists who occasionally make you want to scream at her. On the bright side, that proves you're thoroughly invested in her story.
I want to mention that this book heavily deals with subjects like suicide and mental health. It's a primary plot point, so if this is uncomfortable or upsetting, please consider checking out a different book.
