Quirky Cat
Summary:
Maomao spent the earliest parts of her life training in herbal medicine. She had a path in life that she loved. Unfortunately, that was all ripped away from her when she was captured and sold to the inner palace.
Since then, Maomao's life has changed significantly. She no longer works for the inner palace – but instead works directly for Jinshi and the outer palace. That isn't to say she can't continue being a help to the allies she made within those walls.
Review:
The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 6 may well be one of the most entertaining volumes of the series. Again, that’s saying something. If you’ve read the description (Jinshi needs a disguise), you’ll already have an idea of what’s in store).
Be warned, though - this volume may give you whiplash. It goes from one of the most comical arcs of the series (see above) to one of the most dangerous. It’s emotionally fraught and a bit terrifying.
It also starts assembling all the puzzle pieces we’ve seen over the last five volumes. So fans will obviously be quite excited about that fact. While I knew the pieces had to fit together (and I suspected who it might be centered around), I did not anticipate how explosive this story became.
I am truly hooked on The Apothecary Diaries. I’m going to dive right into the next volume now.
