Who killed Chef Antonio, and why?
Gladys
Gladys is our main character and sleuth in this one. That's right; the nice little old lady is going to be solving a mystery without Piper or Sam around to help her. Gladys is on her honeymoon cruise, and right off the bat, there is something wrong with her husband after they have left port. She tries to make their honeymoon special, and every single time she tries, he doesn't like it. Once there was a murder, he was, even more, busier than usual for her, and she has no clue why.
I like Gladys and especially with how she is able to solve this mystery without the help of Piper or Sam. Granted, she did have support, but she was able to solve it.
Mystery
The head chef of the entire cruise was tossed overboard, and he drowns. Everyone thinks its an accident and doesn't seem to believe that it was anything more than that. Gladys knows differently and wants to try to solve this mystery. How to do that when she can't call the two sleuths, she knows best. Gladys doesn't look for clues, nor does she do anything that a sleuth would do since everyone believes it was an accident. The only reason Gladys solves it is because she was trying to figure out what was going on with her husband.
Three Stars
I figured it out early on in the book about who killed the head chef, just not with why. I still didn't get the why until it was explained at the end. Bonbon Voyage by Katherine H. Brown is getting three stars, and I am recommending anyone who likes to read cozies.
Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Bonbon Voyage by Katherine H. Brown.
Until the next time,
