Will Kit figure this one out?
Kit Marshall
Kit Marshall is our sleuth and our main character. She's the one that we follow, and it's a pretty interesting life that she leads. Her husband is working at the Library of Congress and is the main suspect of this case. I will explain more about that later. Kit has to figure out who did this crime since she knows it wasn't her husband, Doug, and figure out everyone's motive. Since maybe it never had anything to do with what was stolen. She uses her friends to help her solve this case, and it all came down to a minor detail toward the end.
The Mystery
The mystery in this book is that someone stole two artifacts that were being shown that night and the next day at the Congressional meeting about what was actually in President Lincoln's pockets the night that he was killed. The next day Doug walked in to find his boss died. Now, who would want to kill the second in charge of the Library of Congress? Well, some people had their grudges against him. I kind of figured it out earlier on, but it was cool to see the way that Kit figures it out.
Three Stars
Ms. Shogan did an incredible job with this book, and I loved every minute of reading it. Some moments were slow, but we always have to have those quiet moments in our lives, including in book lives. I am rating Larceny at the Library by Colleen Shogan three stars as it was good but probably not a good idea to jump in on it in the middle of a series. I am recommending it though to the people that have read the others in the book or for the ones that mysteries in Washington DC.
