A slow start, and there were a few instances of men writing women that were kind of annoying, but thankfully they were minor. Over all a good fun book, not super deep or anything, just good scary fun.

Fair warning though, while this includes big dinosaurs and snakes, and smaller dinosaurs, it also horrifically includes bugs. Awful, horrible, chew through your skull and eat through your brain while you walk around, bugs - and other types of bugs too. Shudder.

Amazing adventure. Starts slow and then boils to a somewhat standard ending for its type, but done in a way that will have you begging for a sequel. Which fortunately, released just before I read this book. :)

All you really need to know though is its basic premise: What if Sir Arthur Conan Doyle were inspired to write The Lost World by an ill-fated yet *real* journey?
