Sexy, gay vampires!! YES!! I jumped on this book. First of all, I love Stormy Glenn. I'm a screaming fangirl, and I'll read anything with her name on the cover. Next...HELLO...gay vampires!
Samuel was a blood slave. Terrible, terrible things happened to him while he was being held. Sully rescued him, and he now keeps watch over Samuel at night while he sleeps. Some might find that stalk-y, but I find it to be sweet. Samuel's nightmares are held at bay while Sully is there. Samuel hates vampires...rightfully so, of course, and Sully hates humans. However, as the story progresses, Samuel must rely on Sully to protect him from an evil so horrible it will make you feel a combination of fear and anger.
This is the eleventh book in the "Wolf Creek Pack" series, and I hate to admit it, but I've not read any of the previous ten. I will remedy that situation as soon as possible. However, I didn't feel lost. There was enough exposition that I got the gist of what was going on very quickly. I liked all of the characters mentioned (except for that disgusting bad guy). The vampires involved want nothing more than to protect their human mates.
There is a lot of action and an adventurous feel, especially while they wander the awesome underground caves. Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the chemistry between sully and Samuel. It's intense. They both want to deny it, but there is just no way. Their first love scene together, in the cave, was fantastic. Stormy Glenn has a knack for writing first time scenes. They're always hot and heavy, but with just a hint or two of tenderness, and they're a pleasure to read.
This book is great, and I think, if you're a fan of MM, paranormal, action, and good vs. evil, you should definitely check this one out.
