At this point, if you’ve been following my reviews at all, you know that I absolutely adore Autumn Reed. From her co-write with Julia Clarke, The Stardust Series, to this series (she also has another series she’s written that I haven’t had the chance to read yet, but you should totally check it out!), I love her.
I’ve been obsessed with this series since the first book came out. It’s such a unique storyline and I hadn’t read anything else quite like it. While there’s a part of me that wishes this series could just go on forever, I have to say that this was probably the most perfect ending I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.
Adele has always been a bit of a badass, but in this book, she really comes into her own. I’ve enjoyed her character from book one, but I felt like she truly let herself grow and became who she needed to be in book four. Also, she finally is able to cement her relationships with all the guys–not only physically but emotionally, as well.
Adele has been through so much and you can’t help but feel for her, especially when she’s at a crossroads with knowing how to keep her family safe while not sacrificing her morals. I have to say, I wasn’t sure how Ms. Reed was going to play it all out, but she did it perfectly. Adele is a force to be reckoned with.
Jameson, Noah, Stowe, and Mason are about the most perfect book boyfriends ever. There are a couple of times I got a little frustrated with them, but honestly, I enjoy having a little tension in my books. It makes the story more interesting.
I felt like we finally get some closure with all the guys in one way or another and it was extremely well written. There are even some things that were resolved that I didn’t even think about or had no idea even could be resolved and Autumn brilliantly brought the story around full circle. I truly could not be happier with how the relationships, the characters, the story–all of it–was written.
Speaking of couldn’t be happier…
Chapter 23. I’ve waited for this chapter since the first book, and let me tell you–it does not disappoint! *heart eyes emojis everywhere*
This is easily one of my favorite paranormal series I’ve had the pleasure of reading and it’s so rare to feel 100% satisfied with how a story ends, but that’s precisely how I felt when I finally read the end. I was so invested in this story and I was so conflicted with how I felt about reading the last book–both insanely excited to read what happened next and unbelievably sad that it would be over–but honestly, I’m nothing but happy with how it played out.
If you’re looking for a new series to read and you don’t want the heroine to have to choose between her men, then please check out this book (and then come back to this post and tell me how you liked it!)
Happy reading!
