Mr. Ginger and the disappearing fish' is the fifth in a series of children's books which follows the humorous adventures of Mr. Tinfish the penguin and his friends as they cope with the impact of climatic change. The noise from the recent arrival of hundreds of seabirds in Daphne Wood is too much for Mr. Choli to cope with. Meanwhile, Mr. Ginger's concerns lie with the bigger problem of the disappearing fish, which caused all of the birds to congregate near to the river in the first place. Mr. Vinegar is more worried about the effect of excessive roosting on the roof of his cottage. Despite their different concerns, they all agree that something has to be done. Fortunately, the inhabitants of Daphne Wood have become a resourceful bunch and several plans are hatched, including Mr. Ginger's fish-finding investigation.
