Having been brought up in South-East London during the Nineteen Seventies, Mark Thompson was one of many children born into a diverse and mixed cultural heritage. A natural performer his constant singing annoyed school-mates, friends & family before he eventually trained as an actor. A love of melody, rhythm and words was first expressed in song and rap, until he was inspired by the UK spoken word scene to perform his words without music. Influences from Shakespeare and Zephaniah are clearly visible, but his style is a unique blend.
