This plot while mostly taking place in the past did not miss a beat for me -Cindy's Book Stacks

Nothing Bundt Trouble A Bakeshop Mystery by Ellie Alexander, had me craving Lattes and all sorts of treats. In this installment we go back in time to solve a murder that Jules's long-deceased father once tried to assist the professor with. We travel back in time when Jules discovers a journal written by her father, detailing this murder that happened when bad coffee and donuts were prevalent, Starbucks was just a glimmer on the coffee horizon, and Torte was the first bakeshop in Ashland, Oregon to acquire a fancy espresso machine.

This plot while taking place in the past did not miss a beat for me and I loved all the 80's references and talk of the hippie days in Ashland, Oregon before the town become hip and trendy. I enjoyed Jules teaming up with Doug, her stepfather as he explained the decades-old murder and how he and Jules's father teamed up to try and solve this case. Jules takes over where her father and Doug left off and tries her hand at solving this murder once and for all with the help of her friend Lance. I was thoroughly entertained by the banter between Jules and Lance. The plot was fresh and fast-paced, I  followed along with Jules as she got into one escapade after the other. With it's cast of colorful and quirky characters this was a hit for me. I look forward to the next installment.
