All the relevant sources are translated within the book, analysed and compared with the most intense investigation of the battle area to date. Where the battle was fought and how is completely clear for the first time. The maps made from the Roy maps c 1750 by excising changes since 1314 are the best ever seen. A later book, 'Bannockburn Proved', takes the matter further with a series of triangulated maps which took a year and a half to make, full time, and 8 levels of proof that the battle was fought in the Carse, one of which shows that no amount of archaelogical evidence in the future could make any difference. Both books contain copies of all relevant maps old and new and hundreds of photographs of the area.
