This was my first Kandi Steiner book and I must say I would definitely read other books by her. I felt so deeply connected to the story and I just wanted to keep reading.

It's funny and a bit embarrassing to admit but the emotions this book made me feel reminded me of how I felt when reading very well written fan fiction. In short- fan fiction authors can make you feel emotionally invested in a story so much that you find yourself emotionally reacting to the story. Kandi Steiner did that for me in this book.

It's been a few days and I still look back on this book fondly. I would absolutely reread it and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for an emotional contemporary romance.

This is my second time reading ALLTW, and my thoughts have not changed: an absolutely addictive novel. Steiner has incredible talent to mix a perfect romance novel filled with angst, hope,and sexy characters.

The journey Brecks, aka B, takes us on, seeing her get drunk on whiskey, reading the vivid descriptions, truly made me feel buzzed just reading the story. As someone who is a big whiskey drinker, I could feel the slow, delicious burn this novel created between Jamie and B's characters. The possessive feel that I got from Jamie had me quivering for more of him.

This book brought out all the feels in me. Just like the first time reading it, I cried for them during their painful moments, I laughed with them for their fun moments, I was angry at them during their stupid moments. And, I absolutely loved them wholly through all their moments. This entire novel, nee, love letter, was soul deep, raw, and fantastically chiseled. Epic, 5 star worthy novel!

This wasn't really for me. I love angst, but it has to make sense for it to work.

What bothered me most about this book was how similar the chapters were. They all felt like they were written from a template. B and Jamie (refered to as Whiskey for no other reason than he "reminds her of whiskey" wtf) meets, make out and then decide not to be together for whatever reason. Problem is, their reasons are stupid. Dumb. Idiotic even. They even meet when they're both single, and even though they have this amazing chemistry, they decide that no, they can't be together. Excuse me, what? This went on and on and on for 350 pages! Ugh, no thank you.

Okay, so B is refering to Jamie as Whiskey, but she never actually calls him that. I don't know why, it's just another thing that doesn't make sense. Her reason for him being Whiskey is, as I said, that he reminds her of it. His hair, his eyes, and the fact that he had a glass of Whiskey once. Huh? That's just weird. It felt like a big fat metaphor to be honest. I didn't like it, nor did I appreciate it. It was just weird and clumsy.

B has a history of her own, one that I liked a lot, and it made my heart ache for her. I felt sorry for her. I think her story could've been explored much more, I'm just sad it wasn't. That would probably have made up for the endless amount of pages of back and forth.

I will say that the writing was excellent, and I loved their chemistry, which is why I'll definitely be reading more of this author's work, this one was just not making sense to me. At all.
