This is a superbly illustrated account of Britain's toughest soldiers serving in one of the toughest countries and in some of the toughest situations experienced by soldiers in recent years. A Journey to Hell and Back contains approximately 120 colour photos providing a marvellously illustrated account of the Patrols Platoon, 3 Para, in action throughout their bloody six-month tour, as they came face-to-face with the Taliban.

Photos show the troops moving into Helmand province, the smiles of the locals as the soldiers attempt to win hearts and minds, living quarters and camp activities, long and arduous patrols in the heat of Afghanistan and images of the thick of battle and their aftermath.

A unique visual record, this is a worthy companion volume to Jake Scott's acclaimed personal memoir of his time in Afghanistan, Blood Clot.
