But this was much darker then the young adult novel.
Sean is a genius and often feels alienated because of it. He gets into some trouble and needs to enter a sort of Witness Protection program in Italy. He meets the love of his life there, and has a wonderful relationship with her, all while keeping his geniusness a secret.
When she gets sick with a deadly disease, he knows he’s the only one who can save her. So he travels back to America to try and find a cure. The only place Seans knows of that is even close to finding a cure is a multimillion dollar pharmaceutical company.
They are not happy to know that Sean was able to break into their network and steal their formula as well as successfully completing it.
There is a lot of danger Sean has to go through in order to get back to his girlfriend, which was very exciting to read about. It kept me on the edge of my seat while I read.
The only gripe I have is that I wish the character development had been a bit deeper. We never really get a thorough look into the feelings of Sean and his girlfriend and why they are so in love. It was a little hard to grasp that they cared so much about each other.
But Sean was willing to go to the ends of the earth for her, including blowing his Witness Protection program to make sure she gets well after contracting a disease that would be fatal to her. He proves how much he loves her by risking his own life, which is amazing.
I’m glad everything wraps up nicely, and wonder if there will be any other adventures Sean will be going on.
