As she walked slowly, tentatively along the lane, towards the mystery object lying upon it, Greta wondered if she had been a bit foolish, offering to go look. Turning round, thinking she might return to the safety of numbers, she saw her sisters urging her on.
"Go on!" said Lisa, egging her to go forward.
"See what it is," Mildred said to her.
Approaching the object, Greta leaned down and carefully picked it up. When she had finished inspecting it, she called out to her sisters, "It's a golden locket and chain, and it's so beautiful. Little did she know how dangerous, in the wrong hands, the locket and chain were going to prove.
