I love it, because it helps me find peace with the fertility issues that I have, while also imparting stories I resonate with. It was a real balm on my heart when I read it.
I hate it, because Ms. Lister excludes trans women overtly. As a cis-woman I can't speak on the trans-communities journies, so I do, perhaps, understand why Ms. Lister didn't attempt to address a life she has no experience with. At the same time, her exclusionary words are brusque and off putting when I go back to the beginning of the book. I feel conflicted in the comfort I take from her writing because of it.
