Bodie and Rachel work in extremely dangerous jobs that can turn from good too bad at a moment's notice. After an op does not go as planned and Rachel is feeling like she is to blame for everything, Bodie tries to reassure her it wasn’t her fault and they fall into each other’s arms in a night of passion. A couple of weeks later, Rachel confronts Bodie telling him she is pregnant and that she is not ready to be a mother. Bodie tells her he wants to keep the baby and convinces Rachel to carry the baby to term. As they spend more time together, and a sporting scare, Rachel comes to realize that she indeed cares for the baby and that she wants to be a mother now. With Bodie excited that Rachel wants to be involved in the baby’s life, build a stronger relationship together and sure that everything is fine with Rachel, Bodie goes on an operation that does not go as planned.
Rachel is a strong heroine in a male-dominated world and I enjoyed the way Bodie help her come to her conclusions on her own but with a little help nudging her in the right direction. This was a good combination of Wicked Horse and lead into Sawyer’s new upcoming Jameson series.
