Yet another book I borrowed from the library, this one was inspired by the very popular Tumblr of the same name. I've never visited the Tumblr, but it is a collection of submitted emails, text messages, and social media posts which are last messages received by the contributors from friends, family members, and others.
Some of the messages were brutal, others were uplifting, but the common theme throughout the book is that they were followed by sudden endings or loss, at times leaving the recipient with a feeling of 'I wish I had known' or 'I could've/should've done things differently. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but life can just be difficult and unpredictable sometimes.
It was a short read, but heartbreaking and moving enough at times, so it was just long enough to give the reader the opportunity to reflect upon their own life and relationships. I think I may need to go and read something a bit lighter next!
