Beautiful and independent Dorry wasn't the type of girl who believed in fairy tales. As the typical, spoiled rich girl, she had become jaded to the world around her. Living a fast life of no curfews, shopping sprees, and breaking the rules; she was devastated when she was sent to spend the summer with her aunt and uncle on a small Kentucky farm.
Reclusive and moody Caden has lived a life of secrecy for years. Hiding in plain sight, he enjoyed his life of solitude. Working as a farmhand, he was able to keep his secret identity hidden — until Dorry showed up.
Upon meeting, Caden discovers that Dorry is on to his secret. As much as he attempts to keep Dorry at a distance, she refuses to stay away. Refusing to back down, Dorry confronts Caden as a raging storm brews in Shady Oaks.
