Norfolk author James Kennedy's book Don Domingo's War is an entertaining and riveting read. This is the story of a Family's courage and fortitude set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War. Don Domingo is the head of a family farming in the Alpujarras region of Andalucia. The story is set in in the period from 1937 to 1939 when Franco's army is pushing towards Madrid. His younger brother is hot headed and decides to leave his family and join the Republican Army against Domingo's advice. He is captured during the siege of Bilbao, but escapes to join the Basque Resistance fighting in the mountains. After being on the run he is captured and sentenced to death at a Fascist Show Trial. His brother sets out to rescue him from the dreaded Castle of San Sebastian.
