Luke Walton by Horatio Alger is the story of a young boy who makes his way up, starting as a news paper selling boy. Luke Walton was well grown, with a frank, handsome face, and was better dressed than the average newsboy. That was one reason, perhaps, why he preferred to be by himself, rather than to engage in the scramble for customers which was the habit of the boys around him.
The story describes in very interesting details the boy's struggles and his endeavors to make it big in the society. It is a highly engrossing story which continues to retain the element of interest till the very last line.
