I bought this book a few years ago as a reference for an article I was writing. Literally the only way I could get through it was by reading it with a red pen in one hand, and a laugh permanently bubbling in my throat as I proceeded to correct the appalling spelling and grammar mistakes (not to mention the complete lack of historical accuracy) with big red pen marks. By the time I was done it was a Technicolor masterpiece.

Still, the one pro to this utter tripe is that I sometimes show it to people just so we can laugh at how terrible it is. It's become a bit of a joke among both the theatre and academic people I know; the ghostly gift that keeps on giving.
