It is the most entertaining volume out of the ones I've read!

Sadly, I didn't like this one as much as I did the first two. It's still a great graphic novel that I recommend, though!

I think my dissatisfaction with this one stemmed from a couple of things:

1. We get some insta love with our side characters, whom I actually ship but felt really unsatisfied with how that came out and was revealed. I mean, they were definitely attracted to each other and I was yearning for them to admit that and start a relationship, but for Gwendolyn to suddenly declare to Marko and Alana that The Will was the man she loved? After her obsession with catching her cheating ex? That felt... rushed. And then she just leaves him in the hospital.

2. Some senseless death. I get it. I get that it's necessary because this series is about a world without much sense, a world where pointless things happen and hate and death and war reigns. And still, I felt like that character deserved better. I felt like our heroes deserved to catch a break. I feel like it could've been avoided, and I hate that it was done by a character I love. And because I'm selfish like that, it bothered me lol

I was a bit confused by the ending, too, but I guess I'll learn about that in the next volumes.

This SAGA series just gets better by the volume. That much is clear. The phenomenal writing and art are still here, and I'm pretty much expecting to love Vaughan's storytelling and Staples fantastic, vivid art at this point.


With this volume, we get several new characters (who are all exceptionally displayed), and we get to see Alana and Marko continue to try and live their lives. The plot progresses nicely, and I'm definitely looking forward to reading Volume 4, as soon as I'm able.


If you haven't read these yet, I highly recommend them. All the five star ratings are deserved. The hype has been right, and I'm officially a fangirl of this series.

And so my tenuous relationship with Saga continues. I’m still on the fence with this whole series…part of me likes the normalcy presented in each volume, but another part of me is constantly screaming ‘that’s really stupid’ whenever I read one.

At this point I’m trying to do what my friend and boyfriend suggest and just accept what happens as what it is, and stop expecting more from it and it’s sort of working. I am enjoying the storyline more, but at the same time there is just too much that does make sense. Like people suffering some pretty awful wounds, and yet they still live. HOW? We get to find out about some supporting characters, and see some confrontation we’ve been waiting for…but there isn’t much that actually happens in the story of this one.

The art, as always, is gorgeous and thankfully the writers seem to be moving away from doing ridiculous scenes just because they have a blank space on the page. I’m definitely not a prude but I do get tired of seeing scrotums and other such images in each ‘issue’ of the story for little to no reason.

I’m interesting in seeing out this turns out in the next volume, but if it doesn’t pick up I think I might say my final farewell to this series.

Completing the story arc that started in the first Saga volume, the third left me rather confused. This graphic novel is filled with people receiving mortal wounds, yet only a few of them die. Someone got shot in the back of the head, but apparently is alive and kicking in the next chapter. The story was okay, but I felt like there were too many characters I didn't care for. The art in this comic is great, but I'm not sure I'm interested enough to find out more in the next volume.

I cannot wait to read the next one.
