"Inanna spill your rain like blood/the rival bird is coming..." The intro hints at issues regarding religion, nature, violence, and on a deeper level, love. "Through the Windowpane" is a melting pot of subject matter that could be equally be described as both disturbing and satisfying; it goes from the uplifting tone of "I Can" and "Pagan Blessing" to the surprise of feeling anger return, expressed in the startling ending of "The Bookstore". This is what Mihok has to say about "Through the Windowpane": "In 'Secrets,Nevermore' , you're being told everything by this girl. This next collection isn't like that. It's the same girl, but she's older now and she's just not that crazy about exposing herself the way she had in her youth. So if you want to know, you'll have to creep through her yard and take a peek in her window."
