In SECRETS OF CUB CREEK, A STEP ACROSS TIME, the main character, Lauren Parker, (age 9) gets quite an education when she accidentally touches a petroglyph while she and her family are on vacation in Utah. Lauren is transported back in time to the 1930's and for several weeks, Lauren lives with Josie Bassett Morris on her homestead near Jensen, Utah. Lauren learns what it is like to live in an isolated, rugged area without modern conveniences. Lauren's main focus, however, is how she can get to her family.
