The story revolves around the family of Elsie and the relatives who happen to be the inevitable characters in most of Martha Finley's stories. Most of the characters communicate with each other in a very polite and friendly manner, often quoting the lines from the scripture. The ambiance created by the author touches the hearts of the readers and the readers can identify them with the characters. It is a very good read and almost irresistible once started.
