This was SUCH a cute novella. SO cute. Of the three books in this collection, it was by far my favourite. I enjoyed All I Want For Christmas, I couldn't get on with Dreaming Of A White Wedding, so I started Christmas Every Day with some trepidation but it was actually awesome. It sort of reminded me a teensy bit of a Cecelia Ahern novel, with the little air of magic the book conjured up. And the magical Christmassy theme seems to be the theme for this collection, at least the two I've read.
I loved Emma. She was exactly the kind of main character I can root for, working in a supermarket (because not all Chick Lit heroines have glamorous jobs, which I LOVE, being an ex-supermarket worker and current-shop-worker myself), letting the days pass her by and not really knowing how to change her life, until she accidentally almost kills Gorgeous Dog Walker Nick. It's honestly the kind of novel that made me giggle and sigh, and remember that Sandra Bullock film While You Were Sleeping all with the added bonus of being ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS. And with a dog called Rudolph, you just can't go wrong can you (and not to forget Button as well).
Jaimie is a fabulous writer, one I definitely want to see more of in the future, hopefully with a full-length novel as she's such a great, fun writer to read. This was a wonderful book to escape in to, and it had me dreaming of visiting the North Pole, if only so I could take home my very own elf.
REVIEW FOR ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
This was an interesting little Christmas read. Part of me wants to rip it to shreds for all that is wrong - because, I truly don't believe a school teacher would be allowed to move in with one of her students and his Uncle, even if it is in his best interests, but actually, when reading the book I didn't actually care. I didn't let the little things I would usually question bother me, because this is actually a really lovely Christmas read. I really loved getting to know Isabella, Jordan and Tyler.
There was also a really lovely magical air to the novel, something whimsical and lovely, really in the spirit of Christmas. Everything happened so quick, it was like being caught up in a whirlwind I struggled to stop. So much so that I read this book in just the one sitting, it was a wonderful Christmassy read, and I can't wait to dive in to the other two novel(la)s in this collection!
