My Heart Breaks, written in a screenplay format, is a dramatic love story that covers thirty years. It is a story of Kadia, a woman who must do whatever it takes to survive. Set in time between 1943-73, the reader sees how she evolves with time and at a critical moment finds her purpose in life. The first 20 pages are gripping as Kadia narrowly escapes a SS execution squad, struggles to survive in Berlin in 1945, meets a fleeing German soldier and saves an orphaned boy. Together, they create a "family" trying to survive a war in its last stages. The man she falls in love with is not who he seems until the end. Time passes and people change. In the end, the beginning meets the end and a horrible truth is revealed in court. Even then, love prevails until My Heart Breaks in a traffic accident. But is that really the end of her life?
