Dillon made this story for me. I didn't like how he let his agent and publicist control him and his life, but understood why he did. He was an up and coming action star trying to build a brand. That meant he was thrust into the role of the bad boy playboy. But what endeared me to this story and kept me turning pages was how this man, a man who was a professed man-whore, fell hard for the girl from Kansas. He may have fought it, but when he gave in, she made everything in his life complete. Dillon would do anything to make sure Lane got what she wanted, even at the risk of breaking his own heart.
Lane was a sweet, albeit naive, girl who longed to work in Hollywood. When she's presented with a once in a lifetime chance in Hollywood, she jumps at it. Unfortunately for Lane, the minute she gets to LA she discovers nothing is what she thought and finds herself homeless, jobless and carless. When she's presented with the chance to be a script reader, she jumps on it. But reading for Hollywood's hottest bad boy is much harder than Lane thought...especially because she's so drawn to him. When she gives in, she falls hard for him. And just like Dillon, she discovers that she would anything to make sure Dillon got everything he was working so hard for, even at the risk of breaking her heart.
My only wish for the story was to have more about Choo and Dillion's parents. They were the reason Dillion was trying to build himself into this huge star, to provide for his brother. He had a restraining order against them and fought off speaking with them as often as he could, so to only learn a little of what happened left me feeling like I was missing something.
I look forward to the next book in the series, which is BROKEN GLAMOUR (featuring Lane's friend Amanda and Dillon's co-star Ryan). The sneak peek for this one has me chomping on the bit for March to quickly get here.
