Refugee families often arrive in the UK traumatized and disorientated, having been forced by persecution to leave their own countries. Good early years provision is essential for refugee children, helping them and their carers to rebuild their lives. The Refugee Council and Save the Children are publishing this report to help address the unequal access to early years provision among refugees. It is hoped that the report will be used by refugee community groups to lobby for better early years services and by local authorities to help plan the provision of such services. The report also highlights positive practices to provide early years workers with practical ideas for their work.
