The Souma family and Tohru are still at the Souma family's vacation house. Because Akito is at the other vacation house, the Souma members are obliged to visit Akito everyday. Tohru and Kyo are always left behind. A few days later after Yuki's confession, Yuki tells Tohur to forget about what he told her. Tohru is confused at his sudden change of mind, and she also sees Yuki become more headstrong after his visit with Akito the other day. One day, Tohru finds a horse lying in the grass. Tohur finds that it's Isuzu, Isuzu seems agitated at something, and tries to attack Tohur. The next day, Akito summons Kyo to his vacation house. Kyo and Akito have an argument, and Akito calls Kyo and Tohur "monsters." Tohru, to Akito, is a monster because she is "to good to be true;" a human cannot be unafraid of a monster like Kyo. Over the argument, it's revealed that Kyo is in love with Tohur. However, Kyo knows that Tohur will get hurt if he reveals his love for her, so he lies to Akito. Akito tells Kyo that he has little time left before he is going to be imprisoned. The same night, Akito visits the gang's vacation house to see Tohru.
Momiji tries to prevent him from going in, but Tohur meets Akito after protecting Momiji from getting hit. Kureno is introduced as the Bird zodiac to Tohru, and Akito reveals that he is the "god" who controls the entire 12 animals. From that point on, Tohru vows to protect all the 12 zodiacs to lead them through a normal life.
