Benny the dog lives with an old tramp. He longs to play with the children he sees, but they have been warned to "stay away from that dirty old dog". One day Benny gets his chance, but things do not turn out quite as he had expected. Linda Jennings has written several books for children, including "The Mule's Tale". Krystyna Turska is an experienced illustrator, among whose recent publications are "Coppelia" and "Crispin and the Dancing Pig".
