What a lovely book! This story perfectly blends real life problems and joys, showing both the good and not-so-good aspects of life, and how both are normal and acceptable. Cody seemed a little annoying at first, but I quickly grew attached to her optimism and her family. The author has definitely done a great job of capturing the spirit of a girl of Cody’s age. This book is aimed at younger audiences, but I think anyone (me included) can find something to love in Cody’s perspective and summer adventures.
