[The Romantic Comedy Book Club]

LOVED this book. The banter is well worth the read. To be honest, the cat made the entire book for me. I laughed so hard at his antics that my sides hurt! The only thing I didn't care for was I felt like Clayton dragged out the last chapter. I feel like someone told her she needed to add more steamy scenes and she just filled it in to add pages.

Some of the most cringe-worthy writing I've read this year. . . and I read a book called "Boss in the Bedsheets" (seriously tho, BitB was really sweet and actually well-written). I only finished this book so I could add it to my Goodreads tally :/

I almost DNFd this book, but I pushed through it because I really wanted to give it a chance. Unfortunately, the best part of this book for me was the Clive...the cat. The writing was OK here, but I'm not sure I'll try another book in this series.

A woman comes to terms with her *ahem* noisy neighbor in this adult contemporary romance.

Caroline is missing her O, while Simone is giving them out like candy. Simon and Caroline are fun characters full of energy and humor. It's hard not to like two such individuals. It's not often I read about a sexual active woman attempting to reconnect to her body after a lackluster sexual experience. Caroline's frustration and desperation for her O felt genuine and realistic. Simon's character arc is fulfilling, if a little less important, than Caroline's arc.

With all that said, I just did not like the writing style or tone (particularly in regards to her O). Don't get me wrong, my absolutely favorite part of the novel is Carolina's frustration and desperation for an orgasm. But some of the descriptions were just utterly silly. Something about her O being a mermaid with fiery hair and her jumping off a cliff and blah blah blah. I don't know, the language and tone just really did not work for me at all.

tl;dr While the story and characters are fun and humorus, the writing style did not work for me at all.

Great read ! I really liked this one :)
My niece recommended this one and I finally took the time to read it, thank you Milou ;)

I really enjoyed the main character, she was very funny and direct. Reminded me a bit of Charley Davidson, my favorite character ever.
Simon was also very likable (lovable) and I really enjoyed their banter.

Yes of course we know they are going to end up together after some drama, but with these kind of books it is more about the journey and not the destination that keeps the plot interesting.
It kept me hooked for most of the book, until the last part. You know, the last part was a bit.. Well I was done. They got each other and then (for me) it is finished. It slowed down too much for me at the ending to keep me full-on interested.

But overal a nice, and most certainly FUN read. 4 stars !!

This is probably going to get a 3.5 from me because I didn't think the book was ever going to end (even though the last fourth of the book wasn't needed IMO) but it was still an enjoyable read.

A fun,light and at times a witty read. I wanted to love this book, but just didn't. At times the story-line was just too over the top and dramatic. It just didn't appeal to my personal sense of humour.
