I loved this book. It was empowering, uplifting and encouraging. As a woman who has pursued a non-traditional life (married, no kids wanted), it was reassuring seeing another career minded woman seize life and live by her own rules.

You may dismiss this as a money grab (as I did), but Year of Yes digs surprisingly deep and offers some actually useful advice. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you are a fan of Shondaland—Grey’s Anatomy is my jam—simply because Shonda’s writing style is a very particular brand of writing. But if you do like her shows, you’ll get something out of this book, which is an intimate look at Shonda’s struggle to rise out of depression and live a fulfilling life.
