"First Words Non-fiction" is a collection of engaging books for very new readers. These books contain carefully controlled vocabulary and focus on familiar experiences. At Starter Stage, each book consists of simple sentence constructions and one line of text per page. Furthermore, each page provides colourful picture cues in the form of photographs and illustrations to help the reader decode the text. In "The Farm", we are introduced to some well-known farm animals; we are taken on a guided tour through Maisie's school in "My School"; and a PE Lesson in "The PE Lesson". In "The Party" we join in the fun at Aneesha's birthday; get stuck in a jam in "Traffic"; and test our powers of detection in "What Can You See?"
