Definitely my best of the series but it dragged in some parts (yikes)
Generally though, this one felt more real to me and it was thicker too so yay.
Three stars and not four because I still don't think I'd like it now and a major factor in books for me is timelessness and this didn't have that.

Dear Bella, you can't just ask a boy (or a wolf) to kiss you in front of your vampire boyfriend because that sure sucks (he might just suck your blood out of your system for being jealous). Again, I liked the book more in a sense that you get to understand the emotions and thoughts of the characters, unlike in the movie where I hated Jacob for being the third wheel without hearing his side, which was then explained in the book and you get to see that Jacob is fun not pushy - just motivated. Also, it was full of action with Victoria's vengeance.

Like I said, Eclipse is easily my favorite, but I found that I didn’t enjoy it as much the second time around. This time the annoying things stuck out more and hindered my enjoyment of it, but it was still a great read. There’s a lot going on in Eclipse, and it has all of the features that the previous books were missing.

There’s finally a sense of urgency with the plot. What appears to be a serial killer on the loose in Seattle, ends up being something much, much more, threatening both Bella and the Cullens. Instead of just sitting around, Bella is actually scared and tries to help, despite being just a lowly human with no special powers or skills.

Also, we finally get out of the tiny Bedward bubble and learn more about other members of the Cullen family and the Quiluete tribe. This was probably my favorite part about Eclipse, even though it added a lot of pages of info-dumping. At least it was interesting dumpage, particularly Rosalie’s chapter. She’s not just a beautiful bitch. There’s much more to her, and the situation surrounding her transformation definitely explains her tough exterior.

The thing that made me drop a star, was all of the manipulation going on disguised as love! Edward and Jacob both admit to manipulating Bella’s feelings, and Bella knowingly manipulates them both, and of course Edward and Jacob manipulate each other for the sake of Bella’s love! And Bella manipulates Charlie, which is just inexcusable and unforgivable since I adore Charlie! It was all a big mess and bothered the heck out of me. Can’t anybody just say how they’re really feeling and accept everyone else’s feelings, instead of trying to take advantage? Apparently not.

Edward's back, Bella is still dependent on others but in a less pathetic manner and all is well with the world again! Well, except.... we still have that annoying love triangle.

Eclipse was a lot better than New Moon plot-wise, no contest, but that doesn't mean I didn't wish Jacob was erased from the equation. At the very least on the love front. I detest love-triangles. 90% of the time, they ruin my enjoyment of the romance in a book.

And in Eclipse it's especially grating, because Twilight started off as basically the ultimate love story between Edward and Bella. I was behind these two as a couple 100% in book one. But now, how do you expect me to believe they share a pure and deep love if Bella herself doesn't seem so sure of that? In fact, she is so unsure she falls for another guy!

Speaking of Bells, I hoped this book would redeem her to me. It doesn't. For a girl who gave up living when her boyfriend left she is very... fickle. Also, Eclipse emphasizes Bella's most defining feature - she is useless. In the first book, I admired her courage despite this. By the third book, I'm mostly exasperated that her only course of action is sacrifice.

Moving on to Edward. He's better than he was in New Moon, granted, but at this point I feel like I love him more out of loyalty than anything else. He's just so apathetic about this whole thing. His excuse is that he brought it on himself - which, yes, he did - but that doesn't mean you need to appear as if you don't care!

Despite Eclipse being one of my least favorite of the series, it contains one scene that never fails to give me such strong feels/i>. I shall call it the Rejection Scene. Feel free to ask in the comment for explanation, but the bottom line is that it gets me in every way, and I just think that's magical. Even if it's hella painful.

Aside for this scene, my favorite parts of this novel were Rose and Jasper's background. Here are two characters that were always on the sideline, but they get the spotlight for a while and it's cool and it's awesome and it makes you love them so much more and understand them. Especially in the context of the next book ;)

We still have that annoying love-triangle. ~deep sigh~.
Seriously, for someone who basically gave up living the moment Edward was out of her life, she is very... fickle.
I've said it before - I HATE love triangles. Sometimes I don't mind them too much, but in a story like THIS, which is basically about the ultimate and somewhat perfect romance we all want to experience, it feels even more wrong than it does usually, and I hated it. I wanted Bella to chose Edward already and stop the nonsense, because as much as I like Jacob, he's not The one for Bella, as we knew from book 1. (No teams for me, BTW. I love Edward with Bella, and love Taylor in RL).
So, I liked this book a whole lot more than New Moon and less than Twilight, but the triangle just ruin it a bit for me which is why I only gave it 3 stars, despite it being one of my favorite series.

The first half of the book was really slow for me and then it started to pick up. I feel so bad for Jacob, but he deserves better and I hope he finds someone to make him happy. I had to read this whole series under protest due to the fact that every girl I knew was reading this shit. Every time I criticized it they all shrieked "You're just a hater, you've never even read it." So I read it. It's without a doubt the worst thing I've ever read. The only good thing that came out from reading it is that I can critique it from its terrible writing, cheesiness all the way down to the fact it's moron absentee porn. And no one can make me watch the stupid movies.

This is the third book in the series and it was better than the first two books. It probably had to do with the action in these books. I really enjoyed the fight scenes.
