My book is about how I over came a lot of my issues that my learning disabilities caused for me by using music as a coping skill to live, laugh, love, and learn. If it weren't for music, I would have continued to be a depressed, lonely, emotional wreck in the world feeling like I would never reach my full potential no matter how much I tried. Music helped me learn how to stick up to the bullies, those who harassed me, the teachers who called me the "R" word, and told me I would never make it through school. Today, I am teaching others who have special needs how to over come a lot of their struggles through music to show others that they can do whatever they put their mind to. The smiles, and hugs each person I work with gives me lets me know that my journey when I teach others all I learned in high school is worth everything in the world. It will always be a work in progress for me, but as long as I keep my head up high, I can keep moving forward and teach others to do the same.
