Mark Thomas is a screw salesman with a gambling addiction, huge debts, and a tendency to suffer weird dreams. With loan sharks closing in on him, his girlfriend gone, and his life spiralling out of control, he is made an offer that promises an end to his misery. He is set a simple challenge: one day to make a name for himself. One day to get his name on the next day's evening news bulletin. If he succeeds, his debts will be wiped.
