On the way home from the Trojan war, the Greek hero Odysseus and his band of men are trapped in a cave by a one-eyed, man-eating Giant--the cyclops called Polyphemus. Each day Polyphemus leaves the cave to graze his sheep, but rolls an enormous boulder in front of the entrance to keep Odysseus and his men inside.
