A Cinderella Christmas is based around a pantomime, Lucy our main character plays the back end of a cow, and she’s struck up a friendship with celeb Charmaine, though she finds herself spending more time looking after Charmaine’s dog Lenin than she does with Charmaine herself. When Charmaine invites her to her Christmas Day party she thinks all her Christmases have come at once especially when she learns Ryan Aspell will be there, her celeb crush. She’s dying to say more to him than the word “autograph”… But is Charmaine’s friendship for real? And will Lucy finally be able to shine in the spotlight or is she destined to be the back end of a cow forever?
A Cinderella Christmas was such a lovely read! It was longer than I expected for a novella and I enjoyed every page! I loved the panto aspect – Christmas and pantos are synonymous with each other so it was a nice inclusion. Lucy was such a lovely character as well, I loved her right from the off, cow costume and all! I also had quite the soft spot for Lucy’s other cow half Ben, he seemed rather lovely and all i would have liked more of was a bit more spark between then – a bit more romance cos I felt something there, despite Ben’s girlfriend.
This was just such a sweet and fun novella. It had everything – a lovely dog, a diva celeb, a celeb hunk (though he didn’t do it for me) and it was genuinely warm and funny. I sincerely hope Holly Kingston will be releasing a full length novel soon because she’s such a talented writer. She actually reminds me of Kirsty Greenwood, who runs Novelicious Books, their writing styles are quite similar and honest and witty. I got way more than I bargained for with this book and it was lovely, I’d definitely recommend it!
