The other day we got a copy of [b:Jesus: His Life in Verses from the King James Holy Bible|7671143|Jesus His Life in Verses from the King James Holy Bible|Gennady Spirin|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1355027896s/7671143.jpg|10283408] and really enjoyed the artistry. Then I recalled that I also really liked a [b:Goldilocks and the Three Bears|6353935|Goldilocks and the Three Bears|Gennady Spirin|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1355028767s/6353935.jpg|6540539] version as well, so when I saw this picture book special for Christmas on a great bargain deal, I snatched the opportunity to add it to our shelves. It was perfect timing as in our curriculum with Memoria Press Kindergarten we were reading [b:The Twelve Days of Christmas|29030|The Twelve Days of Christmas|Jan Brett|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1167959906s/29030.jpg|29503] in the [a:Jan Brett|16325|Jan Brett|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1325711282p2/16325.jpg] version, so being able to bring this one out and show my girls another illustrators take on the song was quite magical. They are so different, but both so grand.

It is also beautiful, but not written in a way where you can sing it. This version from Gennady Spirin is definitely written in a fun way to sing it, which for us works quite well.
