This is the first in a trilogy. I am really enjoying this epic tale. Attention to detail may seem to drag for some, but i like to get to know the characters and how they come to be. While sometimes I am in mood for a book that moves fast and wraps up quickly (the kind you blow through in a night) It is books like the Deacon that I savior and reflect back upon. These are the novels that stay with you.
