This whole-class teaching anthology is designed for shared reading. The plays develop the characters and situations in "Story Street". In the poetry books, children are introduced to different poetic forms through rhymes, songs, riddles, tongue twisters, humorous verse and story poems, among others. The comics, which feature the animals from "Story Street", are ideal for developing visual literacy and for reinforcing children's grasp of basic plot structures through a format that children love. The traditional tales are well-loved fairy tales, folk tales and fables re-told in a straightforward way at a very simple level.
